Hard choices, easy life. Easy choices, hard life.
How making a hard choice changed my life for the better.
A year ago, I made one of the hardest choices of my life:
I left the corporate world after 22 years.
I had a stable, well-paying, and prestigious job.
I had worked hard to climb the ladder, to prove myself, to earn respect and recognition. I had everything that society tells us we should want and need.
But it wasn't what I wanted my children to tell their children about me.
I felt like I was living someone else's life, not mine.
I felt like I was missing out on the things that really mattered to me:
I wasn't helping the world improve, I wasn't helping young people grow.
I realized that I had made a lot of easy choices in my life.
Choices that were safe, comfortable, and expected.
Choices that did not challenge me, inspire me, or excite me.
Choices that led me to a hard life.
That's when I came across this quote by Jerzy Gregorek, a four-time World Weightlifting Champion and the author of The Happy Body:
"Hard choices, easy life. Easy choices, hard life."
This quote hit me like a ton of bricks. It made me question everything. It made me wonder: what if I made a hard choice?
What if I left the corporate world and pursued my dreams?
What if I followed my heart and not my head?
What if I chose an easy life?
It was not an easy decision. It took me months of thinking, planning, and preparing. It took me a lot of courage, faith, and support. It took me a lot of sacrifices, risks, and challenges.
But it was worth it.
Today, I can say that I have an easy life. Not in the sense that everything is easy, but in the sense that everything is meaningful. I have a life that aligns with my values, my purpose, and my vision. I have a life that brings me joy, peace, and fulfillment. I have a life that I love.
I'm not saying that everyone should quit their jobs and follow their dreams. I'm saying that everyone should make hard choices that lead them to an easy life. Choices that reflect their true selves, their passions, and their potential. Choices that make them happy.
Because life is too short to live a hard life.

I left my corporate job, too. Life feels lighter, I spend more time with my family and I live healthier.
