Creativity Hack - Add the Right Noise
My definition of innovation is the implementation of creative ideas with success. Those big creative ideas are the foundation of innovation. But what if you don’t feel creative? In the coming few weeks, I’m going to show you how you can improve your creativity skills.
Some years ago, researchers made the discovery that specific sorts of sound can improve creativity. Abstract sounds, like white noise or pink noise, don’t (here are 12h of white noise and 10h of pink noise for those of you who still want to try it out). What does work is a mix of real-life voices found in everyday experiences - like the chatter of a busy restaurant or the sound of water.
So, head over to Coffitivity - the free website I use - and turn on one of the chatter tracks there whenever you need to work on a creative task (my favorite track is Morning Murmur).
Now you know why creatives spend so much time in cafes!
